JBS Klinika – Kompleksowe leczenie chorób układu naczyniowego oraz żylaków
Anal polyps are cancerous lesions, most often benign, but after removal, a histopathological examination is always performed to confirm their nature. They are often confused with hemorrhoids, but the pain associated with them is definitely smaller.
Regardless, polyps require appropriate treatment. If the patient notices any disturbing symptoms, he should see a proctologist as soon as possible. It is also worth mentioning that in some patients the tendency to develop polyps may have a genetic basis, therefore preventive proctological examinations are recommended.
The procedure involves surgical removal of anal polyps. It is a short procedure (about 30 minutes) and is performed under local anesthesia with the assistance of an anesthesiologist (sedation). After the procedure, the patient can return home, but it is important to follow several important recommendations:
In order for the procedure to take place, a consultation and examination is first necessary, during which the proctologist will qualify the patient for the appropriate procedure – correct diagnosis is the basis of our actions and success in treatment.
