  • A list of medications you are currently taking.

  • A copy of medical documentation (previous results of ultrasound examinations of veins, if they were not performed in the Phlebology Clinic, information cards, etc.) – this is especially important in the case of monitoring or previous thrombosis.

  • ID card (PESEL)

The examination most often does not require any preparation. The test is non-invasive, safe for people of all ages, safe for pregnant women, painless. Typically, the legs are examined from the groin to the ankles (in specific cases, the lower part of the abdomen is examined). For the examination, the patient undresses to the waist down, remaining in underwear. The examination is performed in a standing position.
  • Two weeks before the planned procedure, you can take phlebotropic drugs – depending on the doctor’s recommendations.
  • Do not sunbathe for three weeks before the planned treatment.
  • If you have your own compression stockings, please take them with you to the treatment.
  • On the day of the procedure, do not apply lotions or creams to your legs.
  • Reserve time for obligatory walk after the procedure.

Before the procedure, you should fast for about 5-6 hours and have a shaved leg (including the groin – in the case of the great saphenous vein).

No special preparation is needed before the RF treatment of spider veins/vessels.

  • The day before the examination:

    Eat only a liquid diet: broths, strained soups and juices, jelly, pudding, fruit jellies, non-carbonated drinks, juices, tea.

  • On the day of the examination:

Currently, ready-made preparations are used for preparation – Enema or Rektanal – available in pharmacies. The enema can be made on your own or with the help of another person. If the patient is taking medications, e.g. due to hypertension, ischemic heart disease or diabetes, please take the medications and drink a small amount of water.

 

This procedure of preparation for the examination is aimed at cleansing the large intestine. Failure to comply with the above-mentioned order makes it impossible to perform the test.
