Catheter sclerotherapy involves the introduction of foam containing a sclerosing substance into a vein using a special catheter under ultrasound (USG) guidance. As a result of this procedure, the failing vein around the inserted angiographic catheter shrinks.
Catheter sclerotherapy is performed using local anesthesia only in the injection area and is virtually painless.
In order for the treatment to take place, a consultation is first necessary, during which the phlebologist will perform a Doppler ultrasound of the veins and qualify the patient for an appropriate treatment – correct diagnosis is the basis of our actions and success in treatment.
