What does a phlebologist do and what does a vascular surgeon do?
Phlebologists deal with the diagnosis and treatment of venous insufficiency – they perform minimally invasive treatments. Vascular surgeons mainly deal with the diagnosis and treatment of arteries – they perform surgeries. A vascular surgeon may also be a phlebologist.
Are ultrasound/treatments painful?
Ultrasound is not – it involves placing a transducer on the area being examined. When it comes to Doppler ultrasound of the veins of the lower limbs, the doctor has to press the head harder in some places, but the examination should not be called painful. In the case of treatments, it is an individual matter, but our doctors do everything to make you feel comfortable and each treatment is painless in a pleasant atmosphere. Typically,treatments are performed under local anesthesia, and surgical treatments are additionally performed in the company of an anesthesiologist who uses sedation.
Can you drive a car after the treatment?
After most treatments you should take a walk immediately after leaving the surgery (about 1 hour). After the walk, you can drive a car, but it cannot be a long journey. After surgery, you cannot drive a car, if the anesthesiologist used sedation.
How long should you schedule a follow-up visit?
Follow-up visits in the case of sclerotherapy/echosclerotherapy/sclerosafe/catheter sclerotherapy/phlebogrif are scheduled approximately 4 weeks after thetreatment. It also depends on the doctor’s recommendations. Follow-up visits in the case of surgical procedures – The first visit is after less than a week after the procedure – the second visit is about a month after the procedure. We also recommend a follow-up after a year so that the doctor can see the exact effect of the treatment.
Can you do sports after the treatment ?
Sport is health, so definitely, yes. However, remember not to overload yourself. After the treatment, you cannot lift or jump, more related activities should be postponed until after the veins have healed. You should also refrain from swimming initially, because there is a risk of infection of the places where the injections were given Important information – practicing sports does not exempt you from wearing compression stockings.
Can you fly after the treatment?
After the treatments you usually cannot fly for 7-10 days.
Can you sunbathe after the treatment?
You cannot sunbathe after the treatments. First of all, the patient should wear a stocking. Sunbathing should be avoided for about 3 months after the treatment to avoid discoloration.
Can you drink alcohol after the treatment?
We recommend not drinking alcohol for at least 24 hours after the treatment.
Can you pay by credit card?
