Treatment of venous insufficiency with endovascular glue
The treatment of venous insufficiency with intravascular glue is a modern and minimally invasive method.
The main chemical component of the adhesive used is cyanoacrylate, which
is well known in medicine for its strong adhesive properties (adhesion), high elasticity and ability to inhibit bacterial growth.
The treatment involves inserting a small amount of glue into the diseased vein using a syringe or catheter (including perforators and main vein trunks) under ultrasound guidance. Through pressure from the ultrasound probe, the vessel walls are brought closer together and eventually glued together, so that the blood stops flowing through the diseased vein and flows through the remaining healthy vessels of the limb, preventing varicose veins and the risk of complications.
In order for the treatment to take place, a consultation is first necessary, during which the phlebologist will perform a Doppler ultrasound of the veins and qualify the patient for the appropriate treatment – correct diagnosis is the basis of our actyvities and success in treatment.
